Bess Streeter Aldrich

(1881-1954) lived in Elmwood, Cass County. Author, well known for best-selling novel A Lantern in Her Hand in 1928, published some 160 stories and 11 prairie novels. Consult American National Biography, Vol 1 (1999) 243 -245.
