James O. Armitage
(1946- ) lived in Kearney, now lives in Omaha.
Educator and medical researcher, known internationally
for his work in bone marrow transplantation and clinical
investigation of malignant lymphoma, authored or co-authored
600 papers, books and abstracts, listed among 400 best
doctors in America by Good Housekeeping in March 1991 and
September 1992, listed among the best doctors in America
by American Health, March 1996, inducted in Royal College
of Physicians at Edinburgh, Scotland in 1995, and appointed
by U.S. President to National Cancer Advisory Board in
