Wayne J. Atwell

(1889-1941) born at Fairfield, Clay County, lived in Lincoln. Educator, biologist, and medical researcher, studied various facets of the pituitary gland, authored numerous papers, served on executive committee of American Association of Anatomists, listed in American Men of Science as one of the 10 best anatomists, directed anatomy department at University of Buffalo Medical School.
