William B. Baird

(1904-1987) born at Grand Island, lived in Omaha. Puppeteer, television performer, created some 3,000 hand-manipulated characters in collaboration with his wife, nominated for Emmy award for television production, one of his proteges was Muppets' creator Jim Henson.
