Harold R. Bohlman

(1893-1979) born near Adams, lived near Pickrell, Gage County. Orthopedic surgeon, medical researcher and pioneer, specialized in fields of traumatic surgery, hip surgery, spinal pathology and surgery, and knee surgery at hospitals in Baltimore, Maryland area; performed first total hip joint replacement using vitallium on September 28, 1940.
