Clare A. Briggs

(1875-1930) lived in Lincoln. Graphic humorist, one of nation's highest paid cartoonists in the early 1920s, noted for creating first comic strip in a daily newspaper in 1904, remembered for "Mr. and Mrs." and other comic strips.
