William F. Cody
(1846-1917) lived in North Platte. Frontiersman
and entertainer known as "Buffalo Bill", his
Wild West Show entertained millions of people internationally,
held what is thought to be the nation's first rodeo at
North Platte during the weekend of July 4, 1882. Consult
