Emmett Dedmon

(1918-1983) born at Auburn, Nemaha County, lived at Falls City and Fairbury. Journalist and author, held various editorial positions with the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Daily News for most of his 38-year career, including executive vice president and editorial director from 1968 to 1978; author of seven books, inducted into Chicago Press Club Hall of Fame in 1982.
