Edwin H. Sutherland
(1883-1950) born in Gibbon, Buffalo County. Sociologist,
author of widely known book Criminology (1924) and later his
White Collar Crime (1949) extended the definition of "criminal" beyond
the traditional violent figure from poverty areas, argued that
crime was learned through interaction with others, was educator
