Dwight P. Griswold
(1893-1954) born at Harrison, Sioux County, lived
in Gordon and Lincoln. Banker, newspaper publisher, politician,
government official, served three terms as governor of
Nebraska, was a contender for nomination as vice president
for the Republican Party in 1944; appointed director of
internal affairs and communications for the U.S. Military
Government in Germany, appointed director of American Mission
for Aid to Greece, where he helped establish a stable government,
elected U.S. Senator in 1952. Consult Current Biography
