Edwin R. Guthrie
(1886-1959) born in Lincoln. Psychologist, educator,
known for developing a behavioral learning theory based
on stimulus-response associations during career at the
University of Washington, his ideas influenced the development
of statistical learning theory, authored Theory of Learning
(1935), which became considered a milestone in psychological
