Howard H. Hanson

(1896-1981) born in Wahoo, Saunders County. Music composer, conductor, recipient of 1944 Pulitzer Prize for his "Fourth Symphony", received 1945 George Foster Peabody Award, an educator who developed Eastman School of Music into one of the most respected musical institutions in the nation.
