Homer H. Gruenther
(1900-1977) born at Platte Center, Platte County,
and lived in Omaha . Political aide, government official,
businessman, served as special assistant from 1953 to 1965
to U.S. Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson; previously
served as political aide to U.S. Senators Burke, Wherry,
and Seaton and as Omaha Chamber of Commerce representative
in Washington, DC; after 1966 he was president of a travel
