William M. Jeffers
(1876-1953) born in North Platte, lived in Omaha.
Executive, government official, an employee of the Union
Pacific Railroad his entire adult life, he served as its
president from 1937 to 1946, and was rubber director of
U.S. War Production Board for one year, succeeding in organizing
the synthetic rubber industry, appeared on cover of Time,
