Joseph Robert Kerrey

(1943- ) born in Lincoln, lived in Omaha. Politician, entrepreneur, college president, served as governor of Nebraska for one term, and as U.S. Senator from 1989 to 2001, was a candidate for presidential nomination by the Democratic Party in 1992, became president of New School University in New York City, recipient of Congressional Medal of Honor in 1970, appeared on cover of Time, May 7, 2001.
