Lawrence R. Klein
(1920- ) born in Omaha. Economist,
educator, author, pioneered an economic theory for forecasting
business fluctuations and for assessing effects of various
economic policy measures, recipient of 1980 Nobel Prize
in economics for his synthesis of mathematics, statistics,
and economics into the discipline now known as econometrics.
