Desmond D. Koch
(1932-1991) born in Lincoln. Athlete, business executive,
won bronze medal in discus at 1956 Olympics, starred as
discus thrower on University of Southern California track
team that won NCAA championships in 1952, 1954, and 1955,
won AAU pentathlon championship in 1956, known also as
a punter in football with a career average that set an
NCAA record, held Rose Bowl record for longest punt of
72 yards until 1981. Consult University of Southern California
