Charles R. Larson
(1936- ) lived in Grand Island, Blair,
and Omaha. Military officer, was first naval officer selected
as White House Fellow, served as Naval Aide to U.S. President,
commander of nuclear-powered submarines and head of Navy's
submarine development group, established and directed a
long range planning group to assist Chief of Naval Operations
to develop strategies for Navy in the 21st century, served
twice as superintendent of U.S. Naval Academy, achieved
rank of four-star admiral in 1990. Consult Sunday /Omaha/
