Charles A. Lindbergh Jr.
(1902-1974) lived in Lincoln. Aviator, most acclaimed
aviator in American history for being first American to make
a transatlantic solo airplane flight from New York to Paris
in 1927, he also contributed to development of aviation; appeared
on cover of Time, January 2, 1928 and June 19, 1939, and received
the Pulitzer Prize in 1954 for his autobiography The Spirit
of St. Louis, learned to fly in Lincoln in 1922. Consult Current
