Mabel Lee
(1886-1985) lived in Lincoln. Educator, author, a pioneer in
physical education and sports for
women, her textbook The Conduct of Physical Education (1937)
was regarded highly nationwide, elected first
woman president of the American Academy of Physical Education,
published a history at the age of 97; called
the “grande dame” of her profession. Consult Lincoln
