Josephine A. Roche
(1886-1976) born in Neligh, Antelope
County. Industrialist, lecturer, was assistant secretary
in the U.S. Treasury Department, serving on the President’s
Committee on Economic Security, which
drafted the recommendations that resulted in the Social
Security Act, was selected by American Women magazine
in 1936 as one of the 10 outstanding women in the nation.
