Mari Sandoz

(1896-1966) born near Hay Springs, Sheridan County, lived in Lincoln. Historian and novelist, author of 20 books and contributor of more than 30 short stories and articles to anthologies and magazines, her Cheyenne Autumn was made into a movie by the same name in 1964.
