Frederick A. Seaton
(1909-1974) lived in Hastings, Adams County. Publisher,
U.S. Senator, U.S. Secretary of Interior, radio and television
executive, caused enactment of 1955 military reserve law
and the inclusion of the soil bank program in the 1956
farm bill, recommended legislation for more school classrooms
and better roads, promoted wildlife conservation and statehood
for Alaska and Hawaii, advisor to U.S. President Richard
