Doris C. Stevens
(1888-1963) born in Omaha. Feminist
activist, called herself the "youngest international
feminist", lobbied for passage of the Equal Rights
Amendment in 1920, chaired the Inter-American Commission
of Women, her desire to include the study of feminism in
academia was recognized in 1986 when her estate endowed
a chair in women's studies at Princeton University. Consult
