Arthur W. Thompson
(1886-1970) born near Bradshaw, York County,
and lived at York and Lincoln. Auctioneer, directed his
efforts from 1907 to 1953 to farm sales and general auctions
as well as livestock, considered the leading purebred livestock
auctioneer in the United States and Canada after 1921,
with more than 7,500 sales, he established a world record
of selling 316 carloads of feeder cattle in one day, and
three times achieved sales that totaled more than $1 million
in one day; published several articles and delivered numerous
