Susette "Bright Eyes" La Flesche Tibbles

(1854-1903) born near Bellevue, Sarpy County. Native American rights advocate and author, lectured nationwide, advocated citizenship for Native Americans, inducted into National Women's Hall of Fame at Seneca Falls, New York.
