Ralph W. Tyler
(1902-1994) lived in Crete, Saline County, and in Lincoln. Educator,
author, a national educational
leader who initiated the National Assessment of Education Progress
in the 1960s, and first results suggested
that knowledge of learners is greater when textbook information
was reinforced by experiences, was
known for his contributions to policy, evaluation, testing, and
