Joan Krueger Wadlow
(1932- ) lived at Norfolk and Lincoln. Educator, administrator,
was first woman chancellor in the University of Alaska System
of Higher Education while at University of Alaska-Fairbanks
from 1991 to 1999, where she completed the first-ever private
fundraising campaign, increased the number of student scholarships
available, oversaw completion of several critically-needed
facilities, and furthered the cause of higher education for
the state's citizens; previously served in academic administration
positions at the Universities of Nebraska, Wyoming, and Oklahoma.
