Lawrence Welk

(1903-1992) lived in Omaha. Band leader and television personality, had weekly show on ABC-TV from 1955 to 1971, then continued with independent television stations for 11 more years, famous for his accordion playing, recipient of 1967 Horatio Alger Award.
