Darryl F. Zanuck
(1902-1979) born in Wahoo, Saunders County. Film
producer, co-founder of 20th Century-Fox in 1933, produced
the first talking film "The Jazz Singer" in 1927,
the only three-time recipient of the Irving S. Thalberg
Award for "most consistent high quality of production
achievement" in 1937, 1944, 1950, earned three Oscars
for best picture in 1941, 1947, 1950, the Golden Globe
Award in 1954, appeared on cover of Time, June, 12, 1950.
