 Allen Beermann
Nebraska Press Association Executive Director
Allen became Executive Director of the Nebraska Press Association
in 1995. In addition to overseeing the operation of the association,
he is actively involved in the lobbying on behalf of the state's
newspapers at the state and national level. For 24 years Allen
served as Secretary of the State for the State of Nebraska,
including service as the President of the National Association
of Secretaries of State. He also served 29 years in the military,
retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Judge Advocate General
Corps. He is a member of Rotary International and was selected as Nebraskan of the year in 2007. Allen is also a member of the Midland Lutheran College Journalism Hall of Fame and serves on a number of state and national boards and

Rob James
Sales Manager - Nebraska Press Advertising Service
Rob has been in the newspaper business in one way or another
for more than twenty years, having held positions as publisher,
advertising manager, sales executive and artist. Since 1993,
Rob has held the position of Sales Manager for the Nebraska
Press Advertising Service. In addition to assisting members
with newspaper market research, quotes, and general information
about newspaper advertising, Rob also sells advertising for
the NPAS, and handles clients, both new and old. If you've

 Jenelle
Plachy
Office Manager/Bookkeeper
Jenelle keeps the books for
the NPA and NPAS and our affiliate organizations. She also
sends out the NPA Membership Dues statements in November, processes
checks for dues and bills from both members & clients,
and sends checks to our member newspapers. For questions on

 Carolyn Bowman
Advertising Manager
Carolyn has been with the NPA for over 20 years, nine of those as Advertising
Manager. Carolyn generates advertising estimates for advertisers and agencies,
sends advertising insertion orders to newspapers, and handles advertising invoices.
Carolyn oversees the Nebraska Classified Advertising Network and the 2X2 Display
Ad Program. She also coordinates the Nebraska Newspaper Directory & Rate
Book, as well as the Annual Better Newspaper Contest. You can reach Carolyn by

Katie Pelster
Administrative Assistant
Katie joined the NPA/NPAS staff in May, 2007. She is the Administrative Assistant for the office. Katie puts together the weekly Green Sheet/Bulletin for NPA members and affiliates, and coordinates most aspects of the NPA & NPAS Annual Conventions. She also sends out the Associate and Affiliate dues statements, coordinates the Newspaper Directory and Rate Book advertising and is in charge of the Press Release Service.  Kara Larson
Advertising Sales Assistant
Kara Larson joined the Nebraska Press Advertising Service in March of 2010. Kara is a 2007 graduate of Weslyean University in Lincoln. Her primary area of responsibility includes sales of the Nebraska 2X2 Display Advertising Network and the Nebraska Statewide Classified Advertising Network. The position involves servicing existing NPAS customers and securing new business for Nebraska's newspapers. Kara also acts as the service's advertising design and layout specialist. Special Projects Assistant
Susan joined NPA/NPAS in May 2008, with over 20 years of advertising agency media and marketing experience. Susan is the primary contact for the “Nebraska News Link,” the online digital newspaper project.
